Dr. JIBRIN, Abdullahi received B.Sc. Ed (Hons), M.Sc. and PhD degrees in Geography from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria in 2001, 2009 and 2016 respectively. He joined the services of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2011 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose to the rank of Senior Lecturer in 2020. He is currently into Lecturing and Research in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; with specialization in Biogeography, Pedology and Environmental Management.

Dr. Jibrin is an expert in Biomass/Soil Carbon (Sequestration and Stock) assessment for Climate Change mitigation and adaptation; through Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) mechanism. He is a Team member, National Forest Carbon Inventory in Nigeria, under the auspices of The Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO-UN) in collaboration with Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) and UN-REDD+ in Nigeria. He is also currently engaged as a Team member, West Africa Research Project:A Regional-based Forest Carbon Assessment for Climate Change Mitigation (REDD+) in West Africa. A joint regional Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP/RAF/3605) between FAO and ECOWAS. He is a Consultant to Kaduna State Government Ministry of Environment on the assessment of potentials and implementation of REDD+ Carbon offset Project.

Dr. Jibrin is a member of many Professional and Academic bodies including: Member, Association of Nigerian Geographers (MANG.), Member, International Biogeography Society (MIBS), Member, Nigerian Meteorological Society (NMetS), Member, Forests and Forest Products Society (FFPS), Member, Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).He has attended several International and Local conferences and has over thirty (30) publications in both Local and International Journals; fifteen (15)publications in Conference Proceedings; two (2) book chapters and six (6) Seminar Papers.
