The Centre for Climate Change Economics, Policy and Innovation (CCCEPI), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Aliyu Muhammad YAMUSA, B. Tech. (Meteorology), MSc. (Soil Science), PhD (Agrometeorology) is a Principal Research Fellow (Reader) in the Department of Soil Science, Institute for Agricultural Research, A.B.U. Zaria who has logged 14 years in teaching and research. As a lecturer, he has been teaching courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate students within and outside his department. Courses like SOSC 202: Introductory Agricultural Climatology, SOSC 444: Environmental Biophysics, SOSC 850: Intermediate Agricultural Climatology, AGRON 826: Agro ecology and Global Climate Change, MSCCC 805: Climate Change and Agricultural Production, MSCCC 809: Agro climatology and has supervised more than 15 Masters and Ph.D students.

Dr. A. M. Yamusa

His research interest has focused on Agrometeorology, climate change and food security, environmental hazard in agriculture, climate smart agriculture and environmental modeling. His research interests also include evaluation of crops and animals responses to climate change; develop adaptation and mitigation strategies through sustainable soil in changing climate. He is into research and creating awareness for small farmers to reduce the risk associated with climate variability and change. He has more than 35 publications in local and international journals and conferences.

He has held some academic, administrative and research leadership positions and worked with students and colleagues in a number of research works. He has participated in workshops with research teams in investigating the effect of air and soil temperature on soil properties. His participations in seminars, workshops and collaborative research with scientists from different backgrounds has exposed and kept him abreast with current knowledge on climate issues. He is currently into Climate change research trials and crops monitoring for knowledge sharing to farmers and policy makers.
