Hamza Mohammed obtained BSc, MSc and Ph.D in Geography from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2006, 2012 and 2018 respectively. He is presently a Lecturer I in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management, A.B.U, Zaria. He has specialized in climatology with special interest in applied climatology. This has led him into looking at the effect of weather and climate on agriculture, transportation and health among others.

He is also looking at causes and effects of global warming and climate change, relationship between climate variability and climate change, impacts of climate change on different sectors of the economy. He is still looking at the impact of climate change on the transport sector particularly road traffic accidents (RTAs) where he has developed models geared towards forecasting the occurrence of RTAs using climatic data. He hopes to engineer the development of the first fully automated motor parks in the world here in Nigeria.

He has being teaching numerous undergraduate courses from 2013 till date and numerous postgraduate courses from 2018 till date particularly physical geography courses. Among the under graduate courses he teaches are GEOG204 (Introduction to Climate and Biography), GEOG311 (Climatology), GEOG406 (Applied Climatology), GEOG409 (Tropical Climatology). Among the postgraduate courses are GEOG813 (Advanced Climatology), GEOG855 (Climate Change and Development), GEOG814 (Applied Climatology), MSCCC801 (philosophy and methodology in Climate Change), MSCCC805 (Climate Change and Agricultural Production), MSCCC809 (Agro-Climatology).

He is a member of Association of Nigerian Geographers and Nigerian Meteorological Society. Hamza Mohammed has over 20 publications in peer review journals and conference proceedings.
