Mission

To serve as a Research based reference point for the preservation and generation of new knowledge that would be the catalyst for social, political, economic and transformation of Northern Nigeria in particular and the Nigerian nation in general.

Vision

Arewa House shall be a centre of excellence in Historical Documentation and Research for the promotion of unity and greatness in Nigeria, embodied in the achievements and aspirations of late Sir, Ahmadu Bello.

Goal

As an academic institution, the goal of Arewa House is to provide institutional continuity and sustainable documentation - on Northern Nigeria. It is primarily concerned with procuring, preserving, analyzing and discussing issues of national and international interest, particularly as they affect the development of Northern Nigeria.

Alh. Sir. Ahmadu Bello Sardauna

History

    Born, 1910 in Rabah, Sokoto Province, a member of Sokoto’s Royal family, He is the great-great-grand son of Usman Dan Fodio, founder of the Sokoto Caliphate. Went to Katsina Training College (1926-31) Native Administration (local government) and was district Head of Rabah (1934-38) In 1949, He entered the Northern Region’s House of Assembly In 1951, after the constitution came in to effect, Sardauna became Minister of Works, Northern Region In 1953 he became minister of Local Government and community Development In April 1954, Sardauna was elected President General of the Northern People’s Congress (NPC) party and as such, became the premier of the Northern Region later that year.
